These statistics were calculated with information provided by the territories and the consecrated members of Regnum Christi.

At the end of 2020, Regnum Christi had 22,909 lay members, 511 Consecrated Women, 56 Lay Consecrated Men and 1,432 Legionaries of Christ. There were also 10,468 members of ECYD.

Service to the Church

In December 2020 the educational work of Regnum Christi impacted more than 190,255 students, including 67,117 students in schools that are advised by RC Education around the world, and 18,643 students in Mano Amiga schools.

There are twenty Mano Amiga schools in Mexico, three in Chile, two in Venezuela, two in Colombia, two in Brazil, one in the Philippines and one in Argentina.

There are 55,744 university students in the International Network of Universities, and 43,102 in the 47 campuses of the Inter-American University for Development (UNID). The 16 campuses of the universities affiliated to the International Network of Universities are located in Mexico (12), Italy (1), Spain (1), Chile (1) and the United States (1).

In the field of ecclesiastical universities, Regnum Christi counts 579 students at the Regina Apostolorum Pontifical Athenaeum, 566 students in the Mexican section of the John Paul II Institute for the Family, and 58 students at the Interdiocesan Seminary and Theological Institute of Maria Mater Ecclesiae in São Paulo, Brazil. The Pontifical International College Maria Mater Ecclesiae in Rome has 82 student seminarians.

In 2020 there were a total of 42 parishes entrusted to the Legionaries of Christ, of which 25 are in Mexico (23 of them in the Diocese of Cancún-Chetumal), eight in Italy, three in Western Europe, two in Brazil, one in Argentina, three in North America. These parishes provide pastoral services to about 1,000,000 people. Legionaries of Christ and Consecrated Women of Regnum Christi direct the Magdala Center for pilgrims in Galilee, which received 22,733 pilgrims in 2020. A Legionary of Christ is also assigned as the pastor of the Notre Dame de Jerusalem Center in Jerusalem, which received some 15,374 pilgrims in 2020

Alex Kucera

Atlanta

Alex Kucera has lived in Atlanta, GA, for the last 46 years. He is one of 9 children, married to his wife Karmen, and has 3 girls, one grandson, and a granddaughter on the way. Alex joined Regnum Christi in 2007. Out of the gate, he joined the Helping Hands Medical Missions apostolate and is still participating today with the Ghana Friendship Mission.

In 2009, Alex was asked to be the Atlanta RC Renewal Coordinator for the Atlanta Locality to help the RC members with the RC renewal process. Alex became a Group Leader in 2012 for four of the Atlanta Men’s Section Teams and continues today. Running in parallel, in 2013, Alex became a Team Leader and shepherded a large team of good men.

Alex was honored to be the Atlanta Mission Coordinator between 2010 to 2022 (12 years), coordinating 5-8 Holy Week Mission teams across Georgia. He also created and coordinated missions at a parish in Athens, GA, for 9 years. Alex continues to coordinate Holy Week Missions, Advent Missions, and Monthly missions at Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Cumming, GA.

From 2016 to 2022, Alex also served as the Men’s Section Assistant in Atlanta. He loved working with the Men’s Section Director, the Legionaries, Consecrated, and Women’s Section leadership teams.

Alex is exceptionally grateful to the Legionaries, Consecrated, and many RC members who he’s journeyed shoulder to shoulder, growing his relationship with Christ and others along the way. He knows that there is only one way, that’s Christ’s Way, with others!
