“I am my beloved’s, and my beloved is mine” (Song of Songs 6:3). This phrase sums up my life and my hopes for the future. I was born and raised the second of ten children on a dairy farm in Minnesota by two of the most amazing parents on earth.
I met the Legion through Regnum Christi when my mom got involved in Familia, a Regnum Christi apostolate that was introduced into our parish. From the beginning, I was attracted by the way the Legionaries related to Christ. I felt called to that same warm, real, palpable, personal relationship with Christ.
I joined the Legionaries’ minor seminary in New Hampshire at the age of 13 in 2003, and this down-to-earth intimacy with Christ which attracted me from day 1 has been the red thread that runs through these 19 years of formation. I have carried out my studies and ministry in the United States, Ireland, Italy, and the Ivory Coast and am currently serving as the coordinator for the Legion of Christ in the first Regnum Christi locality in Africa: the Ivory Coast.
I have no regrets and wouldn’t change anything for the world, though the journey has definitely entailed its falls, nights, and winters. I consider myself the happiest man alive as a beloved of the Lord and pray that I may be a holy, humble priest who listens and loves.
All are warmly invited to pray for Deacon Dain and the other 28 deacons being ordained to the priesthood, and to join them via YouTube for the live broadcast of the Ordination Mass on Saturday, May 7th, at 10:00am Rome time (4:00am EDT, 1:00am PDT).
